In a letter to Mrs. Rita Russo, Director of Education, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and Mr. Jeff Watt, principal of Courtice Secondary School, the Canadian Muslim Forum (FMC-CMF) shares its shock and disbelief with all other communities on the hate-Islamophobic very worrying and very troubling unprecedented incident that took place in your school just recently.
FMC-CMF stressed on the fact that desecrating the Holy Quran doesn’t only cause very deep wounds to the hundreds of thousands of Canadian Muslims, but, it’s a deep and an aggressive insult to all Canadians and the Canadian values and principles.
Furthermore, FMC-CMF added that such hate and bigotry offence should be strongly condemned by all terms. Moreover, there is high expectation that the school’s administration and the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board swift decisions and actions to address very profoundly the mentioned Islamophobic hate incident that took place on its premises.
FMC-CMF believes that schools are supposed to be platforms for education, harmony and true citizenry. Turning our educational environment into one of tension, bigotry and friction shall fail its obvious objective of creating youth generations based on human and moral values.
